Spooky Sugar Cookies

There is nothing quite like decorating cookies with your kids. NOTHING! We make sugar cookies for almost every holiday. I discovered this recipe ages ago and once the decorations come out, it's a baking we will go!

She had a little too much fun with the blue gel.

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

½ cup soft butter
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup sour cream
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla
3 ½ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
frosting, sprinkles & other decorations

Beat together butter & sugar. Add sour cream, eggs & vanilla. Beat well. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt. Mix well. Cover & refrigerate at least one hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to ¼ inch. Cut into shapes with floured cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets & bake for 8-10 minutes. Cookies will be a light tan on the bottom. Remove to a wire cooling rack. Frost when cooled.
