Spotlight
We started a new family tradition about a month ago. After we read our scriptures and have family prayer, we have a “spotlight” on one person in our family. It is a different person each night. Originally it was going to be all of the rest of our family focusing on a different individual each night. Our children…being the children that they are, decided that they would have to tell each one of us something that they liked about us after it was their respective turn. A “feel-good” session if you will.
Tonight it was Spunky’s turn. After everyone told her what they loved about her, she set her sights on her sisters.
“I like the Princess because she’s my favorite sister and she plays with me and she be’s funny. And I like Squishy because she stares at me.”
It’s easy to gain Spunky’s affection. Squishy has some ground to cover.
Day 23

I might have to copy your idea!!! I love it!
What a nice tradition. I bet my boys could come up with some blog fodder if I try to get them to say nice things about each other!
What a neat idea!! "...because she stares at me." That's classic.
That is such a great idea. Does it make the girls be nicer to each other to hear their sister say nice things about them? My girls have been so mean to each other lately. Maybe this idea would help them be nicer to each other.
I love the idea!
I love her response to little squishy.
My siblings and I are doing this(kind of unrelatd to scripture study, but whatever... lol) It's very therapeutic! We've done it in YW, but recently changed it to "good works" moments.
