Foodie Friday

Because I was being all sorts of sentimental last night, we watched a movie with the kids and made homemade hot fudge. It is a super simple, fun recipe. Just make sure you use the largest saucepan that you own, otherwise this could boil over.

HOMEMADE HOT FUDGE

1 cube butter or margarine
1/3 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the cocoa, sugar and evaporated milk. Whisk together. Bring the mixture to a boil. Once it starts to boil, boil for five minutes. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla. The mixture looks thin at this point, but it thickens as it cools. Serve over your favorite ice cream...YUMMO!!!

P.S. They still haven't found the little girl yet. It is so sad. There are no leads and really they have no way of knowing where to even look. No one saw her taken, and they have no suspect. It breaks my heart.

I'll be trying that recipe for sure.

I saw that story about the missing girl a lot when I was in your area, but have not heard anything about it here. I feel for her and her family.

I'm excited to try this! I love making stuff homemade rather than buying it at the store. Good stuff!

The fudge sounds awesome - and movie time with the family sounds awesome, too. That is SO sad about the little girl missing. It breaks my heart everytime I hear a story like that ... and I just pray that this story has a happy ending. You're right - I don't know how the parents would breathe. I can barely breathe just thinking about it...

From your post a couple days ago ... you mean your house doesn't look that clean ALL the time?! :)
