The First Ever And Only Tour Of Homes

Many of my faithful readers (all ten of you) have already seen pictures of my home. To you, I am sorry. I am participating in BooMama's first ever and only Tour of Homes. Since we are all nosey at heart, I didn't think it would be right to view others homes and not let them have a peek at mine. So bear with me all that have seen it before, and for you new people...

...Welcome to my home...Come, sit on the front porch and sip lemonade and rock the afternoon away, okay, so I don't have a wide angle lens for my camera, but there are some rocking chairs and a table just over from the door.

...Come, see where I spend two, wait three, hmmmm, maybe four....well, does it really matter how many hours a day I spend here?

...Our living spaces. Two for the price of one. This is where we play, and watch television, and play games. It hasn't been painted yet. I am having a hard time deciding what to do. Any suggestions? The second picture is where we pray, have Family Home Evening, read scriptures and read bedtime stories and just think. Eventually the circle frame above the piano will have "These are a few of my favorite things" stitched in it.

..."The heart of our home"...It was a miracle getting it to look like this and stay like this long enough to take a picture.

For my last and final viewing, I am showing you where I spend the most time when I am not typing. Lovely.

Thank you for visiting. I am so excited to see what everyone has done and how they live.

You are brave and your house looks great! I wouldn't want to take pictures of my front porch (too boring), and especially not my kitchen or "office" area (TOO MESSY).

Beautiful home! Glad to know I wasn't the only one grabbing my camera quick before a child came in and instantly transformed the room back to normal. :)

What a beautiful home and I LOVE the porch!

It's very nice! I love your square table. We looked at some square formal dining tables, but never found one we really liked. Paint? You could do with a deep red if you're bold. With the windows and the fireplace breaking it up, it would look great. In my last home, I did a sort of terracotta, and the fireplace really popped.

You have a beautiful home. I'd take pictures of mine, but seeing how it is all in boxes it wouldn't be very pretty right now.

Love your tour! BTW, I need to get inspired and my the "room I spent most of my time" in as neat as yours!

I love your home.

My paint suggestion for the living area: Berh Premium Plus Eggshell in "Red Red Wine". We Loooove this color. It's the perfect red, in my opinion. Not too bright, but not too dark. It looks like it would go well with your couches. We also have a chair rail in our living room, with Behr "Brown Tepee" painted on the bottom. It helps the red not feel too overpowering, and makes the room feel more elegant. Hope you are happy with whatever you decide to do. And if not - you can always paint over it!!

You have a beautiful home. I love the curtains in the laundry. It's nice to spruce it up when you have to be in there a lot. :)
You should definitely paint the living area, but I am terrible at picking out paint. I usually have to do it twice. At least they now make those testor cans!

Very lovely home. Dang, I wish i had participated in this. Oh, well.

As a first semester interior design student (so don't take too much stock in what I say...) I think your living room would look lovely with a nice beige or light-brown toned paint or paper with some texture. That's my suggestion. :-)

Lovely home! As for paint, I wouldn't do red, because the couches would blend with the walls. I would paint the ceiling and trim true white, and the walls a warm "cafe con leche" (milky coffee) look ... not tan, not almond, not brown ... as if you took a mug filled half way with coffee, and filled it the rest of the way with heavy cream...

My inlaws have the same couches! Very nice!

OMG - you have 92 comments!! HOLY SMOKES!!!! Have you ever received so many comments on a post? When do you have the time to read them???

Your house looks beautiful, which makes me think that:

1) You have a house elf. Or,
2) You don't really have any kids.

Is that a plant on top of your dryer? That's got to be staged, right? I feel like I'm looking at a model home!

You know what's on top of my dryer? Two loads of laundry that have yet to be washed. Although - the kids haven't yet figured out how to climb on the dryer - so that might be a fantastic spot to keep my plants safe!!
