Dinner Tonight
I am posting my favorite recipe because I can make it and walk away for the rest of the day...today I needed this. My family loves it and it is super easy.
Busy Mom Chili
Brown 1 lb. ground beef (I use ground turkey due to cholesterol issues) with dried, minced onion and garlic to taste. Drain grease and add the following:
1 28 oz. can tomatoes with liquid
2 tsps celery salt
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp Worchestershire sauce
1 27 oz. can Kidney beans, drained (today I used a small can of dark red kidney beans and a can of black beans)
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
After I mix this all together, I transfer it to my crock-pot and let it sit all day on low. Today I put it on my front porch to avoid any more heat in my house...a tip I stole from Works for Me Wednesday.
***I will vary this recipe depending on what I am in the mood for. I had half a green pepper in my fridge and I chopped that up and put it in with the turkey.

Sounds yummy! I love dinners I can do quickly and not worry about for the rest of the day.
Chili is one of my favorite things. It sounds so good...I think I'll try to make it. Thanks for sharing! :)
Yum, sounds so good! I loved that tip about the crock-pot, too!
That sounds great. It's been in the mid 90's here for a week and I could really use a meal I could stick in the crock pot on the deck. Great idea.
Sounds very yummy! Very similar to my lazy chili, so I know its good :)
Thanks for the e z recipe.
The tip about putting outside made me wonder, how hot does a crock pot get...because it if it is only 100 degrees, I will just put mine in a covered bowl and just set outside. ;) Thanks for the recipe, I will be needing it.
Sounds delicious. I'm going to have to try it. I'm always on the look out for good new recipes.
YUM! I'm coming over for dinner...okay, well, maybe not, but YUM! :) I never thought about putting the crock pot out...if I had a place to put it outside without having it get destroyed, I'd do it! :)
Oh, and I was going to mention that it looks like your list is getting shorter and shorter...good luck! :) (Chalk it up to short-term-memory loss!)
ooh, that sounds really good.
can I be brave and add that the Jiffy cornbread mixes are really good if you add a shot of vanilla and a tablespoon of sugar to the batch. Hubby loves it every time and 'hates that boxed stuff' hehe.
Mmmmm... love switch it up recipes like this! TFS!
I can always use a new recipe -- who doesn't???
Thanks!! :)
