The 4th...on the 17th

We started the day out with our city's parade. And wouldn't you know it? We sat next to Hilary's family. What are the odds of that?

We totally didn't plan this. But we got a kick out of it. Great minds, eh?

Amelia and Jeremy just hanging.

Tess with donut on her face. She was super afraid of running up and grabbing candy at first, but like any of my family, she was true to form and by the end of the parade had a bag full. She was picky though. She passed over many morsels in the street. How nice to have such a refined palatte at such a young age.

She just sucked on her flag. Is it disrespect to our flag if she does that with everything?

I caught some jets going overhead, and I was so busy trying to get these ones centered in my lens, that I totally missed the jumbo one that flew, seriously, 100 feet above us.

We went to the local carnival where we ate some Snowies, went on a few inflatables and then decided that it was too hot, so we went home. Half of us went to a neighborhood BBQ while the other half stayed home and read "The Devil Wears Prada" while a certain baby slept.

Nice air, Tess!!!

And wouldn't you know it, we ran into these folks again when we invaded their home for a BBQ. Apparently we have lots of BBQ's on I-day.
Our two manly men on the grill.

And I am just in LOVE with this picture of Hayden. I am going to play around with it in Photoshop and I am going to make Hilary frame it on her chinhead...forehead...whatever.

Jeremy was in heaven. DORITOS! He never gets them at home due to my stinking MSG allergy. He was so excited, he stole the rest of the bag.

Hilary, you know how we feel bad for Hayden being the only boy? Here is my solution. He can marry Sophie...providing that he is taller than her. K? Then I know I will adore Sophie's in-laws.

Hilary threw the container of strawberries at me and threatened under penalty of death that I had to place them on the cake. See my broken arm?

The kids played outside.

Tess picked Lana's wedgie.

It was great fun!

After, we went to a super secret park in a super secret town that had some smokin' super secret fireworks with my sister's family. At the park we indulged in creamies and cross-dressing her little boy when he turned into Old Faithful and the only outfit we had avaliable was a pair of sleepers that had pink bunnies all over it. He really would not make a cute girl. We weren't crowded and we were out of there as soon as we got in the car. I would tell you where it is, but then I would have to kill you so that you don't go and make it more crowded. When they were finished, we went to my sister Stacy's house where we did our own little fireworks and her dogs got in my car and wouldn't leave. They love me. Our kids then proceeded to beg for bed. I love the forth...if for no other reason than worn out kids.

Looks like your 4th was fun.

It's been a long time since we have visited the local park for the festival. I'm always afraid the kids will ask us to spend money that we don't have. I know, sad, pathetic excuse. I need to let the kiddos experience more from life.

Cute kids! What parade did you go to? We went to Huntsville. It's always a little cooler up there. In fact it was the nicest 4th I can remember. There wasn't even one degree of hotness!

Oppps. That was me and not my husband. What's the deal with him using my computer?

Do they have growth hormones that I can O.D. my son on so he can marry Sophie? I really wouldn't mind that one!

Sorry about the broken arm. Even with a broken arm you did a fabulous job on the cake. I warned you not to mess with me.

Can I just say that I love your family, and we have so much fun with you. New 4th of July tradition?????
