Snow days, snow days, la la la la la la-la.
This is what we did today instead of going to church. The doctor told me to not take the Spunky one to church or school until Monday and the Princess has a sniffle and quite frankly, all those excuses aside, I just don't want to go today. The streets are terrible and I don't want to brave the church parking lot.
It snowed about 8 inches last night. DH is out with his back and so yours truly got to shovel. That is not a complaint. I LOVE to shovel. I would much rather shovel than say...do laundry. This is quite the irony because I usually have to come back in and do the laundry anyways. ;)
We live in the end of a cul-de-sac. Our friendly city snow-plowers...when they COME...shove all of the snow in front of our house. This is not a complaint either. My kids LOVE the snow oasis that it creates. This morning they were sledding down the man-made hills. We built a snowman (well, more like a snow cone with a ball on top. The snow was just not quite rolling strength). We had a family snowball fight. Dh and I threw each other in the snow (I LOVE when DH is all playful and throws me in the snow). The princess and I made a tunnel. A wussy tunnel. We touched hands and decided we were done. So we came inside and ate pastries. Delish.
And now I am off to make cinnamon rolls and French bread for our Super Bowl party tonight. I am a sucker for those sample people in the grocery stores. I usually buy whatever it is they are sampling. This is because of two reasons, one I feel bad that people just take their samples and never buy what they are giving away. And two, I just really like food.
Because of those sampling ladies we are having Hummus at our party tonight along with gobs of other food. I have never had hummus at a Super Bowl party. It is just not "manly" enough I suppose. Aaaa, whatever. My mom and the Princess will appreciate it.

This was a really fun post!! It's cute to see you and your kids in action.
One of my favorite memories as a kid was when mom and I made that giant Teddy Bear snowman. I'm glad your kids will have those fun memories too! It's great when you don;t have to leave your front yard to go sledding. they will talk about it when they are old like us, and they sit back and reflect!!
GO PATRIOTS!!!
We were lucky enough today that they cancelled church. lol. However, I wasn't as adventurous and chose to stay inside all day:)
Enjoy your superbowl party.
Cute photos! We need to get Liam out there!
The hummus comment I won't show to hubby. He brought that home last night among other many delights for the game today. He was so proud of himself.
What a fun day.
I'll take one inch of snow please. That's all I'm asking, just one inch to make all my dreams true.
What fun!!! And you are looking HOT!!! It is so fun to play in the snow. Where is the squishy? And I don't blame you for not wanting to go anywhere. We ventured out in a BLIZZARD!! Half way through church they sent everyone home, and school is cancelled for tomorrow...I guess we will do a little playing in the snow of our own tomorrow.
Why the heck didn't they just cancel our church? Seriously, get with the program people!
I love watching you play with your kids. Looks like you had tons of fun. Now they owe you! They have to be good for the next month.
I remember when I was a kid and it snowed like that. We had such a fun winter. I also remember going up the the big hill to go sledding. It is a times like this, seeing others enjoying snow, that I think I miss snow. Then I come to and realize that I really do not like cold weather.
How much fun is that snow??? So jealous.
I always feel sorry for those people too!
Guapo loves hummus and he's pretty manly.
Cowboy: Thanks so much! I don't remember that teddy bear. How old were you?
Ellen: You have my sympathies.
Mel: Most of the wards around here did that as well. I don't know why ours didn't
Gina and Gabriela: I apologize for the Hummus comment. The men in my family have formed a posse against hummus. They will NOT eat it. I should have said "it is something for the less refined palates." ;) I always assumed that beans were quite the manly food. You know, because of the after effects of eating them.
NCS: One inch would have been HEAVEN. It snowed another six inches last night.
Ity: Squishy was inside all snuggled and warm in her bed. How fun for a snow day. I am glad they cancelled your church. LUCKY!
Bilary: NO KIDDING! I want to know why they didn't either! Yeah right...a month? I think my friend, that you may be high. ;)
Heidi: Do you remember when my dad would pull out the 4-wheelers and we would go flying through the snow? Good times.
I miss snow like that, it looks so fun!
How fun! I loved playing in the snow when I was a kid.
They cancelled my mom's church, but no, not ours. In fact we had stake conference and I had to sit throught FOUR hours of it yesterday! oh well right? Bring on the blessings... :)
I am sick of shoveling!
It sounds like the perfect day!
Oh I am so glad I live in Cally I don't miss that snow at all! Ok maybe just a little.
Looks and sounds like you had a great snow day!
I do remember your Dad pulling the sled behind the 4-wheeler. That was such a blast. Being a kid was so much fun.
One of my friends says you automatically get two freebies a year where you just don't feel like going to church. So see, you have one more still to go!All that snow looks so fun!
Fun! Great pictures!
Do you live in Utah? It looks like a neighborhood my family used to live in . . . then again, a lot of houses in Utah look similar . . then again, you may not even be in Utah! It looks like the kiddos had a lot of fun, and though I don't like snow or cold weather one bit, you'e pictures are great and they kind of made me want to build a snowman (if I could build it in my house with the heater on!!)Have a great day!!
