Works For Me Wednesday

Wow. It's been some time since I've participated in a Works For Me Wednesday, because quite frankly, I've run out of tips, or so I thought. I had a recent bathtub experience that prompted me to participate yet again. DD #2 had a "juicy toot" in the bathtub Tuesday night. I don't think that needs much explanation. Before it went all over, DD #1 and I grabbed all of the bathtub toys and threw them into our bathtub toy container. After all of the water drained out, I ran and submerged all of the contents and the container into a container of bleach water "just in case", let it soak, pulled it out, and rinsed it.

See that? It is a colander from the dollar store. It is fabulous. The water drains right out. Every night, I spray the toys down with Lysol and then rinse. It works well in situations like our recent bathtub incident.

And it was only a dollar!

Or you could decide to spend $29.95 on this darling contraption.
I will stick with the dollar store find.

Here's your way back to Shannon's Dryer for more Works For Me Wednesday tips.

I love that tip. We use a basket, but it doesn't have holes on the bottom and so water sits in it. I think I am on the way to the dollar store this week to get me a big ole colander.

That is a great tip! We use a laundry basket and I have to wash it out a lot. I think I might go to the Dollar Store tomorrow.

Oooh, I like that cute frog, but I'm cheap. . . . We also use a big plastic basket, but there's ewww in the bottom of it, because it doesn't drain completely. I gotta make a switch.

Great tip! I would need forty of these for all my kid's bathtub toys though... :) Maybe I could switch them out?

BTW- I love that frog thing too. I saw it at Target. It is a waste of money, but oh, so chic! :)

that is wonderful..I have a plastic bucket thing from the dollar store that I use...it is all holes....works great! I also have a small basket that is all holes that I use in the kitchen to hold the sponges, bottle brushes, etc that I use to wash the dishes....after I am done with the dishes I just put it in the sink and let it drain.....works great and the stuff gets dried well!

My first son would always have his timely "movement" during bathtime when he was one. What was up with that???

What a neat piece!

so simple - why didn't I think of that?!

Sure wish I'd had this tip back in the day when mine still played with tub toys. Brilliant!

What a great idea! I'll have to get one.

I love, love, love this tip, Stephanie!!!! I usually just pile the bath toys on the side of the tub and let them drip dry...which never works. There is always water left inside. I am totally going to try that. Thanks!

"Juicy toot" just cracked me up! All too familiar. As to why? Must be the nice warm water.

LOL @ "juicy toot." Now there's a flavor of gum they'll never make.

I like your idea! Very cute! I think I'll be visiting the dollar store while I'm home by myself this weekend!
