What to say....what to say.
Hello all.
I was sitting here at my computer trying to decide which of the many things that I could blog about. Oh, what oh what should I say.
Should I tell about my little solo camping trip with my kids? Should I tell them all that I am on the short side of crazy taking a 5-year old and a 2-year old to a campground on the river ALL BY MYSELF?!?! Granted, it was a church function and there were a lot of adults around that were willing to keep a watchful eye. Still, they had to keep track of their kids too. Maybe I should mention that I was taking a tent to another campground, I backed right into a brick grill. I don't think the backing up sensors are working.
Maybe I should write about how I walked into the house after coming home and I noticed two baseballs. One under my desk, one under the dining room table. Interesting. I don't have little boys and I didn't even know that we OWNED baseballs.
Or maybe I should mention my little "sawdust" problem. The kids were able to participate in a "dig-for-all" while camping. Lots of fun for them,
lots of sawdust EVERYWHERE for me.
Or maybe I should mention my clumsiest moment EVER! I was unloading everything from the from the van and I thought to myself "Self, why don't you just straighten the shelves while you are out here putting things away." So I did. I found that cast iron skillet that I had been wanting to season. I put it on the top of the ladder and forgot about it. Guess when I remembered it was there. Go on, guess. I remembered it when I had started to move the ladder, and bounced it off the top of my skull, watched it hit the concrete, chip the concrete, narrowly miss the dog, and chip the concrete again. (I would have a picture, but my DH took my camera to take pictures for his mom)
So I sit here and ponder. I ponder as I look at my sawdust and baseball covered floor, rubbing my head while staving off a migraine and looking at the load of camping gear that has now had babies in my family room and I wonder what in the world I will tell you. Hmmmmm.

Oh I am so glad its not only me who does stuff like that.
But you get major kudos for doing the camping trip on your own! Major, major kudos. And don't let anybody tell you differently!
You are a trooper! Seriously, are you Okay?
Oooh!! I am so sorry!! I hope things get better for you (and your head.)
I know I shouldn't have found this nearly as amusing as I did, but the way I am seeing this stuff is pretty funny. It's sort of like when Tom (he was the cat, right) on Tom and Jerry gets hit in the head with a pan a grows a bump. Are you ok? I hope you don't have a big, bald bump poking off of your head.
Ouch, that must have hurt! Do not feel bad, I've done something very similar! I hope things get better for you and your headache goes away quickly!
oh my gosh! sounds like a heck of an adventure! your poor melon!
YIKES. An iron skillet to the head? Maybe you need to get that checked? Hope you're ok!
Backing into a brick grill (or backing into anything) sounds typical for me.
Enough said, you've had a hard day. I am so sorry. I have no advice for your head either. Best wishes with the sawdust mess and the lump on your noggin!
The backing up thing: I backed my crack into an open cabinet and hurt myself badly and about disconnected the door (we both suffered, let's just put it that way)! I hope you are okay...
What a cool mom, going camping with the kids.
Have you thought that perhaps the baseballs under the desk were a sign for you not to place the skillet on the ladder? Hmm? it all makes sense.
Hope your head feels better.
You poor thing, sorry about your bonked noggin. I'll tell you what kind of wuss I am - taking one child on the bus or to the mall or library is about all I can take. CAMPING??
Did you ever figure out where the baseballs came from?
Yeah, the baseballs belong to my DH's nephews. They left them here a couple of weeks ago when I babysat them. My daughters have been enjoying them since.
Thanks to everyone with sympathy for my noggin. I took some leftover hydrocodone from a minor surgery I had and I feel MUCH better this morning.
there's no pick-me-up like a prescription narcotic. I'm glad you're feeling better.
Nothing says I'm better now than v.i.c.o.d.i.n.
Someday this will all be funny. To you. Cause I think we all snickered abit.
Well, maybe just a little.
Sometimes vacations are more work then "time away". However, memories you'll share for a lifetime!!!
And the baseball....hum.....bet that will answer itself soon enough! :)
Sad....
I think you're brave to go camping all by your lonesome tho....That's just how the back of our van looked earlier this week too! :)
Sorry about the skillet to the skull...I just have one word: ibuprofin...and lots of it!
Do you have a concussion? Are your pupils equal and reactive? !!!!!!!
Oh, the dent, the dent...we have matching bumpers:-)C
I too am impressed with you taking on the camping trip by yourself! So sorry about the big bump to your head. Thanks for sharing this!;)
Toooo funny and yep, you are nuts for taking them camping by yourself. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE camping. But after going with 1-year-old Hadley last night (can you say NIGHTMARE?) I think we're planning on daytrips to the mountains for the next few years. Somehow digging her out of the firepit over and over just wasn't my idea of fun....
Oh my...thankfully you didn't have a concussion after that. I have a headache just THINKING about a pan falling on my head!!! BTW, you are such a brave woman to take the kids camping by yourself...what a woman! You are giving me inspiration to perhaps try that sometime.
Camping solo gets you big time goodmommy gold stars!
Wow. Some days are just unbelievably difficult and/or strange! I hope you're alright!
Wow, that's quite a list. I couldn't live without my sensors, am not a camper, with or without Guapo.
Is your head ok? Where did the baseballs come from?
Wow! What a day! I am surprised you weren't knocked out cold. Glad you are feeling better!
