Time and Whine

I can't believe the summer is coming to an end. School starts for M a week from today. We finished up the clothes shopping this morning and now all that we have left to buy is a pair of cowgirl boots for T. M has a pair of pink ones and they are DARLING!

We are going to try to cram as much fun time in as we can this next week. Drive-in movies, one last family reunion, the county fair, etc.

I have sharing time again on Sunday...any ideas on what to do when the topic is Helaman and the Two Thousand Strippling Warriors? Didn't I just do it for Easter?

M needs me to plan her birthday party. We scheduled it at the Children's Museum I used to work at, then today she told me she doesn't want it there anymore. Sigh.

I have a mountain of laundry that I need to get done. It would be nice if M had some clean underwear when she started school.

My DH is taking my kids to his brothers house tonight for some cousin time. I will finally get to clean without someone *helping* me.

There is something growing in the bottom of the fridge. I hope it doesn't get up and walk out the door.

I keep losing things. I put the rest of the schoolclothes money in the garbage and had to fish it out. I forgot where I put my bank deposit. I can't find a shirt I bought for M or the cute pair of strappy pink and brown shoes I bought her. I have misplaced my keys twice today.

Is there someway we can petition the government and mother nature to make the days last 28 hours. I might actually accomplish something.

Like a nap.

I had to giggle-- I certainly don't want a 28 hour dy-- can you imagine the stress of the mom? Good grief, the days would be more crazy!! We don't start school for 3 more weeks- but thankfully everything is done already. Minus back to school shopping fo rme. Have a great last week of summer!

I *accidentally* fell asleep today....not sure if napping whilst my 3yo was awake and unattended was the best idea.

Every summer flies past faster than the last doesn't it? Remember when summer vacation seemed to stretch endlessly before us? Kudos to you for getting the shopping done. I've got a week and a half left, and haven't bought even a new sock.

Just reading this makes my heart rate go up!

I require pictures of the pink cowgirl boots.

And thanks for all of your support with Sam's sleep - I appreciate it.

I hate back to school time and I don't even have kids old enough yet. The commercials annoy me the most.

I hope you find time today to sqeeze in a nap :)

Good luck with sharing time. Is your class doing it? You could stage a battle. :)

I think you just described my life exactly. Whoa! Add my name to the petition for the 28 hour days. Could we make it an even 30 though? I could use another two hours. :)

I'm so relieved to hear about Dusty. Please keep us updated (And keep sharing photos -she's so cute!)

Stripling warriors.... Hmmmm. Nope, I got nothin'. Sorry.

I'm with Nettie - all I've done about the new school year is make a lame attempt at buying school supplies. So far we have pink pearl erasers and pencil-top erasers.

I'd welcome the 28 hour day... as long as we could have 400 day years. That'd give me that much more time to get ready for Christmas.

Even if the days were 28 hours, I'm sure you'd STILL need more time!
I hate it when my brain leaves me!! ACK!!
Enjoy your final summer days!! :)

OH!! Have the kids act out the story of the Stripling Warriors...have costumes and all!! :) It's bound to be interesting if you have the kids tell the story themselves!!

Today, I spent 10 minutes looking for my sunglasses that were on top of my head. Immediately following that, I couldn't find one of my babies as we were leaving for a walk. Two were in the stroller and I started to freak out looking for the third, when I caught a glimpse of myself - and saw them on my back in a pack. No kidding. I was ready to call the police.

My husband comes home from work and I'm getting ready to run out to the store, but before I go ... I grab and check all 3 kids "bums" to make sure there are no wet or dirty diapers. My DH is bending over to pick up something and w/o thinking, I grab to check him, too. He shoots up and says "vavaroom!!!" and I felt compelled to tell him that I was SO exhausted, my mind short circuited and I was just making sure he didn't need to be changed. I mean - I grab bums ALL DAY. But usually, they are bums of babies... (why couldn't I say "You sexy fox!" WHY did I have to tell him the TRUTH?!)

I'd love to have a 28-hour day, or a 5 day weekend, 2 day work week. That'd be great, too.

I would vote for a 28 hour day...if it meant I got an extra 4 hours sleep!!!

thanks for commenting on my blog.

I have always said we need more time in a day; but now that I think of it - NO!!!!! If we are this stressed at 24 hrs. what then would we be with 28?!?!?!?! SCARY!!

We all have these days -- rest assured it will get better (but then sadly, you'll have another day like this... LOL) and then the cycle begins!!!!! It's the joys of being a MOM!!!

Naps are always at the top of my To-Do list that way I can check off at least one thing a day even if I get nothing else accomplished!

Very cute post!! Seems like before we know it, the day has ended and I've accomplished nothing.

Your growing thingy and my growing in the bottom of the fridge thingy could walk out the door, meet up and go live happily ever after somewhere.

Do the words "Time flies when you are having fun" apply here? LOL
