You go girl!!! I was wanting to do this little meme too, but I just couldn't bear to clean THAT much (I didn't have the time either... the due date was too close)! Having all those things clean at the same time is a pure miracle at my house.
because I have to tease you Utahans....Ahh yes, and just look at that shinny white paint glisten from the ceiling of her family room. that's right folks the CEILING of the FAMILY ROOM. Not the bathroom where moisture builds therefore needs to be repelled by the gloss; not in the kitchen where spills may occur but in the family room, the bedroom, the hall and every other room in the house. On the walls and yes, the ceiling. It is...the Utah signature.
Hey Brandi, the word Kara use used "glistening", is the word I LOVE!!!! I LOVE that I can scrub the HECK out of my paint and it won't come off like that FLAT (ugghh...hate shivers) gunk that goes on walls and feels like a CHALKBOARD!!! LOL...All in good fun Brandi, all in good fun. ;)
I'm with Kara on this one. *Note the big cheesey smile on my face. :)
SATIN PAINT PEOPLE! I know you live in Utah, I know you think there's nothing outside the walls of the Valley but guess what...there IS! They even have stuff called "Duration paint" from Sherwin Williams. You can get MARKER off even the Matte finish of this paint. Even with this paint though I wouldn't do matte I would still go satin.
OK Nate just walked in and asked "where's the trim in that room? Oh, it's camaflauged by the beams of light" He wants to know when the last time you had to SCRUB something off the CEILING?
I dare you to find ONE professionally decorated house OUTSIDE of the state of UTAH that uses so much shinny paint. You know that extreme makeover house they did in Bountiful last year? Let's go see what designers outside of Utah used to paint that house!
Hey Brandi! Those are fighting words! :) Do you really want to know when I had to scrub something off my ceiling? About two weeks ago my DH had put a fountain drink, root beer to be exact, in the fridge...on the edge. I opened the door and the cup went EVERYWHERE!!! I had to scrub the stinking ceiling. At my house you prevent trouble, because it inevitably FINDS you!!! I can't take any chances. HA HA!!!
Looks fantastic! I just love your kitchen!

I love the title of your post. Very lovely home though! And so sparkly clean. ;)
ReplyDeleteNo kiddin' it's clean! I'm impressed. Good job@
ReplyDeleteI didn't plan on it becoming a meme, but I looked up the definition of a meme and it says
ReplyDelete"an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture"
So if you want to use this to get things done and you have to be accountable to the world, then go for it!
Now I see one of the reasons you and Itybty are such good friends. You both totally have the decorating skills! I LOVE the red plaid couches!
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful! Have a great time tonight.

ReplyDeleteI agree shinny paint goes in the KITCHEN. I HAVE shinny paint in my kitchen...big red walls..nice and shinny....
they really need an italizedd button for writing text. All capitals looks like I'm shouting...I'm just emphasizing not shouting... ;)
Hey Brandi, I use caps for emphasis, not shouting. I think we may have to agree to disagree. It's a fun debate though. ;)
